THE COTTAGE

Cottage Images by Angela Ward Brown
We know how precious family holiday are.  Our own childhood memories have fuelled a lifetime of curiosity and natural wonder.  Hogchester is a feast of earth and sky and sea, where the stars are clear, the air is pure and the land is an ever change tapestry.  This is a place where stories unfold.  we welcome you here to explore and to unwind and to write perhaps write a small but precious chapter with those you hold most dear.

During your stay you are invited to meet our friendly animals (nosey guinea fowl Hiliary & Fenton will say hello through your kitchen window!), collect fresh chicken eggs, feed the pygmy goats and to explore Hogchester's 75 acre beautiful nature reserve. Taste fresh fruit in our orchard, spot the wild ducks and tadpoles in the ponds, enjoy a picnic under the huge oak tree, and wander through the fields we have reseeded back to traditional wildflower meadows. In the evening why not take an outdoor adventure to hunt for bats and owls?

We are situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and are only one mile from the sea at Charmouth. It is ideally located for exploring Lyme Regis, Axminster and the beautiful surrounding Dorset and Devon countryside and Jurassic Coast.
The idyllic cottage is perfect for sinking into simple living. Whether you choose to relax in front of the cosy wood-burner in the chilly winter evenings or unwind in the sea view garden on a summer afternoon, Hogchester Cottage is a haven in all seasons.
